INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

On July 31, Qinshan Nuclear Power Company became the first entity under the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) to achieve Level 3 certification within ISO 56005, the international standard for innovation and intellectual property (IP) management. This achievement follows Qinshan’s recognition as a National Intellectual Property Advantage Enterprise in 2023, and represents a significant advancement in its IP management system.

ISO 56005 is the first international IP management standard to be led and established by China. It outlines five maturity levels across the innovation lifecycle, from strategy and resource integration to knowledge management and risk control. The levels range from Level 1 (Initial) to Level 5 (Ecosystem): the higher the level, the more stringent the certification requirements. Level 3 (Project Level) certification, for example, requires enterprises to establish a complete innovation ecosystem, achieve a high degree of synergy between innovation activities and business objectives, and demonstrate quantifiable innovation output capabilities.
