On 25 July, State Nuclear Electric Power Planning Design & Research Institute Co. Ltd (SNPDRI) and EDF R&D signed a cooperation agreement in the field of nuclear cooling towers in Beijing. Zhu Hongqing, SNPDRI’s deputy general manager, and Yves Desbazeille, EDF R&D’s executive vice president and director of international business, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties.
Against the backdrop of the “dual carbon” goals, this signing marks another crucial step in China-France nuclear energy cooperation. Focusing on cooling towers — a core component of nuclear power cooling systems, the two parties will collaborate on related scientific research projects and other initiatives to provide safer, more economical, and more environmentally friendly cooling technology solutions for nuclear power plants in operation and under construction worldwide.
