On 5 June, the 25th China Patent Awards, co-hosted by the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), were announced. All three of the high-quality patents that were selected and nominated by the China Nuclear Energy Association (CNEA) received awards: one Gold Award, one Silver Award, and one Award of Excellence. In addition, the CNEA was honored with the ‘Best Organization Award’ by the SIPO in recognition of its outstanding contribution to organizing patent nomination, evaluation and innovation promotion. This marks the first time that the patents nominated by the association have won Gold or Silver Awards, as well as the first time that the association itself has received an organization award, representing its best performance to date.
According to SIPO’s award notice, the patent project “A Dual-core Zero-power Device”, developed by the China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE), won the Gold Award. The patent project “Nuclear Power Plant Reactor Protection System and Safety Control Method Therein,” jointly developed by CNPEC and CGN, received the Silver Award. The patent project “Data Synchronization Method and Device,” jointly completed by China Techenergy Co. Ltd and the CGN, was granted the Award of Excellence.
