On 12 March, the 2025 Workshop on China’s Participation in GIF Work was successfully held in Chengdu. The event was organized by the China Nuclear Energy Association (CNEA) and hosted by the Nuclear Power Institute of China (NPIC).

Huang Ping, Secretary General of the China Atomic Energy Authority (CAEA), and Cao Shudong, Executive Vice Chairman of CNEA, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Long Maoxiong, Deputy Secretary-General of CNEA, chaired the meeting.

During the workshop, Chinese representatives of the Generation IV International Forum (GIF) reported on China’s participation in various reactors under the GIF framework, the progress of local projects and the status of relevant working groups. They also shared the latest achievements of their respective organizations in the research and development of Generation IV nuclear power technology, and provided comments and suggestions for future work.

More than 40 representatives from over 10 institutions across China attended the meeting.
