The 2025 Annual Coordination Meeting for IAEA TC Projects in China opened on 10 March at the International Conference Centre of the Nuclear Power Institute of China (NPIC) in Chengdu. Organized by the China Atomic Energy Authority (CAEA) and hosted by NPIC, the two-day event brought together participants to review the progress, achievements and challenges in China’s national projects under the IAEA Technical Cooperation Programme for 2024-2025. They also planned and designed the projects for the 2026-2027 cycle.

The IAEA Technical Cooperation Programme is a main mechanism for providing technical assistance to Member States and promoting the peaceful use of nuclear energy. Seven projects are currently underway in China for the 2024-2025 cycle. For the upcoming 2026-2027 cycle, seven new projects are being designed and are expected to be approved by the IAEA Board of Governors in November this year.
