At the invitation of Électricité de France (EDF), Chen Baozhi, Deputy Chief Engineer of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of China Nuclear Engineering & Construction Corporation (CNECC), visited EDF from 6 to 10 January. During the visit, Chen Baozhi and Thierry Le Mouroux, EDF’s Senior Executive Vice President, signed an agreement to renew strategic consulting cooperation on the EPR2 Special Mission.
The EPR2 project is a strategic initiative for EDF and serves as a key cornerstone for the implementation of France’s “6+8” nuclear power programme, which aims to revitalize the country’s nuclear power. The agreement focuses on demonstrating the feasibility of the EPR2 construction schedule by leveraging CNECC’s world-class nuclear construction expertise and brand influence.
EDF has selected CNECC as a critical partner for the EPR2 Special Mission, making CNECC the only non-French company participating in this important project.
