From 14 to 20 December, 2024, a peer assessment on digital transformation was held at the Yangjiang Nuclear Power Plant. This event is the first pilot peer assessment on digital transformation at selected nuclear power plant operating organizations, and is also the first dual assessment integrating the assessment requirements from both the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission and the Zhongguancun Alliance for Integration of Information Technology and Real Economy.

The assessment covered a wide range of areas within the digital transformation of nuclear power operations, including daily operations monitoring, production and operations management, NPP fleet and configuration management, equipment availability and maintenance, materials and spare parts management, safety compliance and fire management, nuclear fuel management, training management, and enterprise operations management. In addition, fundamental and comprehensive areas such as development strategy, business innovation and transformation, new capabilities, systematic solutions, governance systems and overall benefits were assessed.

Through a combination of personnel interviews, document reviews, on-site inspections and system demonstrations, a factual peer assessment of Yangjiang NPP’s digital transformation was conducted. In addition, a proposed star rating was provided based on the assessment of the foundational and comprehensive areas in accordance with the digital transformation star rating standards set by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
