On 12 November, the China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) conducted a ceremonial shipment of Miniature Neutron Source Reactor (MNSR) systems and equipment to Thailand. This event marks the official start of the construction phase of the Thai MNSR project.

The MNSR, a compact research reactor independently designed by CIAE, is recognized for its 30kW rated power and features such as radiation safety, environmental friendliness, low operating power, simple structure, and low construction and maintenance costs. Its high inherent safety profile makes it suitable for installation in densely populated areas, such as universities, hospitals, and research institutes, where it can make a significant contribution to scientific research in the field of nuclear energy.

Since the completion of the first MNSR prototype in 1984, CIAE has demonstrated its expertise by designing and building a total of 10 MNSRs, five of which have been successfully exported to international markets.
