On 31 October, the Three-Year Action Plan for the High-Quality Development of Industrial Applications of Nuclear Technology 2024-2026 was jointly issued by twelve ministries, including the China Atomic Energy Authority. The plan outlines an ambitious goal for China's industrial applications of nuclear technology by 2026, focusing on key areas such as medical diagnosis and therapy, agricultural breeding, food processing, material modification and security inspection.
The strategic document envisages breakthroughs in several critical technologies, the establishment of several innovation platforms, and the cultivation of a variety of specialized and new enterprises within the sector. The overall goal is to achieve an annual direct economic output value of 400 billion yuan from the industrial applications of nuclear technology, providing a significant impetus for the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries.
