On 21 September, the China Nuclear Energy Association (CNEA) convened its Fourth General Assembly in Beijing, chaired by Zhang Tingke, Vice-Chairman and Secretary-General of the Third Council and legal representative of the Association. The meeting went through the legal procedures for the agenda as stipulated by the Articles of Association. It deliberated and adopted, by show of hands, the Report on the Work of the Third Council of the CNEA, together with more than 10 other items on the agenda.
The meeting also elected the Fourth Council of the CNEA, consisting of 143 members, and the first seven-member Supervisory Board of the CNEA. Zhang Tingke, on behalf of the Third Council, presented the Report on the Work of the Third Council and the Programme for the Strategic Development Planning (2025-2030) of the CNEA.
The report highlighted the significant achievements of the CNEA since the change of the Third Council in April 2017, despite the challenges posed by the three-year COVID-19 pandemic. It outlined the progress made in the safe and efficient development of China’s nuclear industry, the improvement of service quality, the acceleration of a new development pattern, the significant improvement of service capabilities, and the continued strengthening of the Association’s influence. The report also detailed the Association’s efforts to meet unprecedented challenges and write a new chapter of high-quality development in the new era.
