INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

Vienna, 16 September 2024 - China has announced the opening of twelve nuclear research facilities to international scientists and researchers during the 68th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The China Side Event, themed “Sharing for Development”, was successfully organized by the China Atomic Energy Authority (CAEA) and hosted by the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) at the IAEA Headquarters in Vienna.

The event marked an important step in building a high-level international scientific and technological cooperation platform with global partners. The twelve facilities and test platforms now open to the world include: 

· China Advanced Research Reactor (CARR)

· Miniature Neutron Source Reactor (MNSR)

· Swimming Pool Reactor (49-2 SPR)

· Minjiang Test Reactor (MJTR)

· Beishan Underground Research Laboratory (URL)

· HL-3 Tokamak

· Wind Tunnel Featured Nuclear Environment Simulation Facilities

· Beijing Rare Isotope-beam Facility (BRIF)

· Thermal-hydraulic Test Facilities 

· Nuclear Equipment Qualification Centre

· Containment Mockup for Performance Test

· Platform for Integral Thermal-Hydraulic Behavior of Containment
