On 1 August, the second phase of the Huaneng Longdong Energy Base, comprising a 27.725 GWe new energy project, was officially launched in Huan County, Gansu Province. This event marks a crucial step in the development of China’s first 10-million-kilowatt multi-energy complementary comprehensive energy base, referred to as the “Longdong Electricity to Shandong” initiative.
The launched projects include 22.329 GWe of wind power and 5396 MWe of photovoltaic (PV) power, which are being developed simultaneously in six different zones. The integration of wind and PV technologies is designed to enhance the reliability and flexibility of operations through multi-energy complementarity, and ensure the consumption of new energy, laying a solid foundation for the reliable and efficient operation of future projects.
