On 8 June 2024, the Research Institute of Physical and Chemical Engineering of the Nuclear Industry (IPCE) marked a significant step forward with the prototype of the “Nuclear Storage No. 1” flywheel energy storage system. The system achieved sustained discharge at its rated power and energy capacity, maintaining stable operation over an extended 52-hour period, with key technical indicators perfectly in line with design specifications.

This achievement underlines the proven feasibility and reliability of the “Nuclear Storage No. 1” system, a testament to IPCE's independent innovation. It also provides a solid basis for the future optimization of the system and the completion of the design phase.
