On the morning of June 22, 2023 Chinese Premier Mr. Li Qiang held talks with French Prime Minister Mr. Borne (Bornet) in Paris. After the talks, the prime ministers of the two countries jointly witnessed the signing of a number of bilateral cooperation documents in aviation, space research, nuclear energy and other fields. Mr. Yang Changli, Chairman of CGN, and the authorized representative of Mr. François Jacques, Chairman of CEA, signed the Amendment to the CGN-CEA Nuclear Research and Technology Cooperation Agreement. The signing of the "Amendment" is a renewal of the original cooperation agreement, while expanding and deepening the scope of the original cooperation. Mr. Yang Changli said that China and France had highly consistent judgments on energy development trends and a high degree of consensus on the important role played by nuclear energy in the energy system. In the future, CGN will work with French counterparts to further improve the safety construction and operation level of nuclear energy projects and create a new benchmark; to deepen cooperation in nuclear energy technology research and development and jointly promote technological progress in the field of nuclear energy; to commit to a wider range of low-carbon energy cooperation, strengthen complementary advantages in wind power, solar energy, hydrogen energy, energy storage, digital energy and other fields, and achieve high-level mutual benefit and win-win results.
