On April 13, 2023, Mr. Zhang Tingke, Secretary General of CNEA, and Mr. NOAKI CHIGUSA, CEO of WANO, signed a cooperation memorandum of understanding on the adjustment of the membership relationship between CNEA and WANO. The signing event was held through an online meeting. The two sides reviewed their cooperation experience over the past three years since CNEA joined WANO in 2019. Mr. CHIGUSA especially thanked CNEA for its important assistance to WANO activities during the epidemic period by actively participating in and supporting WANO's peer assessment of China's nuclear power plants and other activities. The two parties jointly stated that with the advancement of the WANO Shanghai Center project, the cooperation between CNEA and WANO has entered a new stage. The two parties will further strengthen cooperation through the WANO Shanghai Center platform, and jointly make greater contribution to the safetyt and performance improvement of both members and the world nuclear power industry.
