According to the blue book "China Nuclear Energy Development Report 2023" released by the  CNEA on April 26, 2023, by the end of 2022, China has 23 nuclear power units under construction, with a total capacity of 25.55 GWe, leading the world in the scale of nuclear power under construction. The blue book summarizes and analyzes the current development status of China's nuclear energy industry from the aspects of nuclear power operation, engineering construction, and technological innovation, and looks into the prospects of China's nuclear energy development in the 14th Five-Year Plan and the Medium to Long Term. The blue book shows that China's nuclear power units have continuously maintained safe and stable operation for a long time, and the construction of nuclear power units has been steadily advancing. By the end of 2022, a total of 54 nuclear power units in China has been in commercial operation, with a total capacity of 56.82 GWe, ranking third in the world. In 2022, the total capacity of nuclear power in China accounted for 2.2% of the total capacity of electricity in China, with a power generation of 417.78 billion kWh, an increase of 2.5% year-on-year, accounting for approximately 4.7% of China's total power generation.
