(JAIF) in Yokohama, Japan on April 14, 2009. The conference was entitled “realizing a low-carbon future: nuclear power can meet expectations”, with over 600 experts and scholars participating.
Before the conference sessions, vice chairman Li had a special discussion with his counterpart of JAIF on consolidating bilateral ties, in which both sides introduced respective structure and activities and conducted deeper communications and exchanges for the future. After the session, a draft plan on launching experimental program for bilateral cooperation was submitted by JAIF to CNEA.
JAIF was incorporated in March 1956, under the auspices of industry as a comprehensive non-governmental, non-profit organization on nuclear energy in Japan. The objective of the organization is to promote the peaceful utilization of nuclear energy and technology to support the sound development of the national economy and well-being. JAIF was reorganized on April 1, 2006, on its 50th anniversary, to become a more pro-active and strategic organization.
JAIF holds its annual conference in every April, which China’s delegation attended in recent years.
