On April 27, IAEA held the acceptance meeting of Generic Reactor Safety Review (GRSR) for CAP1400 at its headquarters.

After review, IAEA concluded that CAP1400 PSAR submitted by the State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) met the latest requirements of IAEA safety regulations and standards. It signifies that CAP1400 is further recognized by the international authoritative organization, thus laying a solid foundation for CAP1400 to participate in international competition.

IAEA GRSR for CAP1400 lasted upwards of nine months. IAEA arranged a team of international senior experts to review the integrity and comprehensiveness of CAP1400’s preliminary safety analysis report (PSAR) according to the latest IAEA safety design regulations and safety assessment requirements based on the lessons learned from Fukushima nuclear accident.
