After the first China International Nuclear Industry Symposium was held in Beijing last year, China Nuclear Energy Association (CNEA) and World Nuclear Association (WNA) jointly organized the second China International Nuclear Industry Symposium from October 20th to 22th in Hongkong. Li Yongjiang, who is the vice-president of CNEA and the senior consultant of Qinshan Nuclear Power Joint Venture Company Limited, attended the opening ceremony and delivered the opening speech as the representative of the CNEA president Zhang Huazhu. Mr. Crane (Chris Crane), who is the chairman of WNA and the CEO of the United States Exelon Company emceed the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

A total number of 200 leaders and experts attended this symposium. Some of them were from International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO), World Nuclear Association and other international nuclear energy organizations. Besides these experts, other participants were from nearly 30 countries and regions including China, the United States, Russia, Britain, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Australia, South Africa, Kazakhstan, Taiwan and Hongkong.

This second symposium was composed of 8 parts, involving the Fukushima accident impact on the world nuclear power development, nuclear education and training, nuclear fuel and supply chain, nuclear law, risk responsibility and supervision system.

Some company leaders and senior experts made more than 30 reports, who were from domestic units such as China National Nuclear Corporation, China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group, China Power Investment Corporation, State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation and Tsinghua University, and other foreign units such as IAEA, WANO, Exelon Company, The Shaw Group, French Power Company, Japan Atomic Energy Industry Association and CLP Group.

Zhao Chengkun, who is the vice-president of CNEA, made the keynote report at the conference entitled Developing Nuclear Power Efficiently on the Basis of Ensuring Safety.

John Ritch, who is the director of World Nuclear Association, and Long Maoxiong, who is the deputy secretary of China Nuclear Energy Association, attended the meeting and delivered the closing speech.
