The CNEA’s chairman Zhang Huazhu and vice chairman Zhao Chengkun met with WANO-TC chairman ICHIRO TAKEKURO at CNEA, June 12, 2009.
Mr. Long Maoxiong, director of CNEA’s department of international cooperation briefed on CNEA, China’s NPPs operation review and experience exchange as well as peer review on China’s nuclear power engineering construction.
Then, the WANO chairman introduced the recent activities of WANO-TC and the general information about Japanese Nuclear Technology Institute (JANTI).
Also, both sides made further and frank discussion on NPP operation review, construction review and the possibility of China attending the WANO-TC events. Both sides agreed that it would help strengthen communication and understanding and explore the potential cooperation field and mode with common interests by this way. Besides, both chairmen intended to enhance cooperation in the area of NPPs operation experience exchange and feedback, etc.
Among the accompanying persons included JANTI’s president Takao Fujie and CNEA’s related staff.
