CNEA Activities

On July 21, Mr. Zhang Tingke, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CNEA, met with the visiting delegation led by Ms. Sama Bilbao León, Director General of the World Nuclear Association (WNA). The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the development of China's nuclear energy, the development trend of nuclear energy in the world and the challenges faced. Mr. Zhang Tingke said that nuclear energy, as a green, clean and low-carbon energy source, has played an important role in coping with global climate change and building a community with a shared future for the world. CNEA is willing to deepen cooperation with WNA, participate in exchanges and seminars with other countries around the world, give full play to their respective advantages, discuss the opportunities and challenges faced by global nuclear energy development, and jointly promote the process of nuclear energy carbon emissions trading and promote the sustainable development of nuclear energy in the world. Ms. Leon said that WNA, as a representative non-governmental organization in the field of nuclear energy in the world, has continuously expanded its business scope since its establishment more than 20 years ago, and now covers the entire industrial chain of nuclear power generation and nuclear fuel cycle. Facing the current complex geopolitics, WNA is willing to promote active dialogue in the global nuclear energy industry, share best experiences, and help global energy policy makers gain a deeper understanding of the important role of nuclear energy. WNA hopes to continue to strengthen cooperation with China and share China's successful experience with other countries in the world. (Source: CNEA)
